Having done the rear ARB, or at least one of them, it was time to get back to the front of the car. In particular to attend to the ARB at that end of the car.

OK, I realise there’s a bit of a contrast between the title and that big A over on the right. However, it seemed appropriate as I’ve finally finished all of the wiring.

With loins still firmly girded, bloody uncomfortable I can tell you, I’ve been getting the bodywork properly finished. As discussed I’ve made an aluminium panel to fill in the gap at the back of the seats, as in the photo.

Back in J15 land, things are progressing albeit slowly. I must admit that I’m getting down to the scraping the barrel things here. Of course, as usual there’s lots of these.

One thing to do was to fit the various cable releases. First of all, the electrical one. I favour a good old fashioned cable job so I added an anchor for the cable outer to the side of the switch panel as you can see in the photo. I’ve also twisted the master switch around slightly so that the angle of pull works a bit better.

No photo, but it’s interesting so I thought I’d post something. I sorted the car out to take it to Andy’s to make an exhaust system this evening. With it on the ground, I flicked up the reverse switch and it moved backwards all under its own power. Not that there was very much of that, I suspect the battery wouldn’t last very long without the engine running.

All the same, seems a fun milestone.
