dead_engineThis year doesn’t seem to have been exactly peaceful on track, does it? Especially considering the catalyst debâcle that’s still rumbling on underneath RGB. That lost me the first two races of the season and it all looked as though I was going to lose another one this weekend.

undertrayIt’s back to fettling the car for the next track outing, in this case to Brands Hatch. Somehow, this all seems very amateurish after listening/watching the Le Mans 24 hour race at the weekend; the level of preparation and care that must go into one of those cars is truly awesome. On the way we were parked in a curious long car park that is apparently called the M25. This car park stretched all the way from the M11 to the Dartford crossing and seemed to be caused by the toll booths. In a rational world, of course, the tolls would be reduced or eliminated at peak times.

ready_for_brandsThankfully the new cover and the proper RTV sealant fixed the oil link. Today I started the engine, having first watched the Chinese Grand Prix, and left it running for quite a while with nary a drop of oil. That’s a relief.
